Student Loan Debt Relief Program Now Accepting Applications

Are you a Mercy alumna who has student loan debt? The Mercy San Francisco Alumnae Association is now accepting applications for our first ever student loan debt relief program. We have been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Sisters of Mercy to distribute among our graduates who attended a two or four year college or university and incurred student loan indebtedness. The Sisters of Mercy continue in their sixty-eight year history of contributing to Mercy High and its students with inspiration, staff, and financial support.

The current grant will offer funds to selected alumnae who have completed a college or university degree and have an outstanding balance on their student debt. The terms of the grant from the Sisters give special emphasis to those applicants who have demonstrated a particular focus in their lives on those values at the core of the Mercy charism: the Sisters’ Critical Concerns and the works of mercy. The focus can be demonstrated through your experience in paid or volunteer work, including family commitments.

Our Mission

The primary purpose is to nurture the community of graduates and associates of Mercy High School, San Francisco.

The specific purposes for the Association include:

(a) to facilitate gatherings of alumnae and former faculty and staff, particularly class reunions;

(b) to provide for communication among the Mercy High School alumnae community;

(c) to encourage growth in the charism of Mercy and facilitate participation in the works of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.
